The technician sharing the office, activated Windows 7 Pro very soon after checking the disk and the key product. It was very helpful and courteous, and I could not be happier.

I delayed upgrading to Vista to 7 so far I could. I wanted to make sure that MS has all the bugs worked out of 7 first.

Overall I like many of the improvements that Windows 7 features. I am currently running the basic edition on my EeePC and Windows 7 Professional on my desk. Besides obvious cosmetic enhancements functional Windows 7 features improved workflow when browsing facilitate explorer files. It also seems to boot faster than Windows XP. This feature is extremely complicated my decision to assign a rating: the installation procedure. I started with a clean hard disk expected to be able to perform a clean install and insert my copy of Windows XP to prove property for the upgrade. But Windows 7 does not allow that. So I had to reinstall Windows XP to Windows 7 to see the resident on my hard hard to install. It is a huge negative for me! I cherish my hard disk space and already slipstreamed Windows XP to reduce the footprint of the OS. So now I have several hundred MB of space occupied by Windows XP. Can I delete the folder used OS? I do not know if Windows 7 fonts on the hard disk to make sure I have Windows XP post-installation. But it is a very boring design which has not been reported on the Windows box 7.

Which should I get my son: Mac or PC?
I have a son in 6th grade and his school is requiring for the students to have laptop computers for their 7th grade year. My son wants a MacBook Pro (13″, 2.26Ghz, 4GB RAM, 250GB HDD), but I want to get him a Dell Inspiron 14. With the difference in price, which should I get him? The Mac has more bells and whistles and the build quality probably is better, but the PC is just what he needs. Which should I go with? Here are the specs and prices of both computers:

Well, as you’ve already figured out, Macs are overpriced. They don’t even have any extra bells and whistles, which is what you’d assume cuz of the price difference. No, Macs are overpriced just for the sake of being overpriced and making more money.
Personally, I’d get him the Dell. It does everything he needs and you could even buy two in case he breaks one or it get stolen. It’s the far smarter buy.
