Who makes the best windows for houses? Pella, Andersen, Jeldwin or Marvin?

I have only seen Anderson and they are very nice.

JELD-WEN purchased several window manufacturers decent many years ago. They converted some plants, others closed. In the process, it seems that they have kept the design the least expensive, the results were not good. I do not consider them. Pella makes some windows are good, some not so good. It is difficult to determine exactly what you're buying until you have in your hands. You do not know how they do on service issues. Marvin makes windows wonderful. They have different product lines, but it is fairly easy to understand what you are dealing. Service is great in some areas, horrible or nonexistent in others. It depends on the dealer. They tend to require little service, either during or soon after installation, if this is important. I would use them if there was something special that other manufacturers can not or will not not. Andersen also made several product lines. Each serves a different market, but they are all good value for money. The service is great and they have a good history to honor its guarantee. You can still get parts for Andersen Windows have not been manufactured since the 1960s. Clearly Andersen would be my first choice. If you are looking for double-hung, make sure you look out the window Woodwright relatively new. On the high price quality wise, but a really good design.
